The next Miamians

Hi!

Yesterday was a big day in Oxford for RedHawk athletics. It was the National Letter of Intent signing day for three sports—football, women’s cross country & track, and field hockey. The athletes were able to sign starting at 7:00 AM from their hometowns. Some signed the letter of intent from home at the kitchen table; others signed at school with local media and large crowds present. After they signed the letter, they were required to fax it to the coaches at Miami. It was at that moment that their Miami future was official! Football had 24 players sign yesterday, cross country and track had four signees, and field hockey signed four.

Last night, a press conference was held at the Gross Student Athlete Center to celebrate the exciting signing day. Each of the three head coaches got a chance to give a description of their signees, and each talked about what we can expect from their squads next year. They all mentioned that their recruiting is not yet complete and they hope to sign a few more in the coming weeks. You can catch some pictures from the press conference on the athletics website:

Next year will be an exciting time for RedHawk athletics, and we are happy to welcome all the newly-signed athletes! GO REDHAWKS!
