Tuesday marks the start of a series of fun events on our campus: summer orientation! Incoming freshmen who have confirmed their enrollment for this fall must attend a 1.5-day orientation session. These sessions run the entire month of June. That means we’ll be seeing lots of you on campus! Parents are encouraged to come to orientation as well—there will be programming for both the parents and students. I remember back to 2002 (yikes!)—some of the friends I made at summer orientation ended up being very close friends of mine all throughout college (and still to this day!).
While we in the Admission Office don’t play a role in the orientation sessions, it’s still fun to catch a glimpse of excited families walking around, anticipating what it’ll be like to walk the campus in a few short months once school is in session. My personal favorite is hearing how the students liked staying in a residence hall room for the first time!
Hope you are all enjoying the same warm weather we are!
